Sir Paul Elmore Oliver Bryan1 
Sir Paul Elmore Oliver Bryan was born on 3 August 1913 at Karuizawa, Japan.3 He was the son of Rev. Dr. J. T. I. Bryan.1 He married, firstly, Betty Hoyle in 1939.3 He married, secondly, Cynthia Kathleen Ashley Cooper, daughter of Sir Patrick Ashley Cooper and Kathleen Spickett, in 1971.1 He died on 11 October 2004 at age 91 at Sawdon, Yorkshire, England.3
He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.) in 1943.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1943 and bar.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for Howden between 1955 and 1983.3 He held the office of Lord Commissioner of the Treasury between 1958 and 1961.3 He held the office of Minsiter of State, Department of Employment between 1970 and 1972.3 He was appointed Knight in 1972.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for Boothferry between 1983 and 1987.3 He wrote the book Wool, War and Westminster, published 1993.3
