     Lt.-Col. Simon Fraser Mackenzie was born in 1805.1 He was the son of Major Colin Mackenzie, 4th of Mount Gerald and Emilia Fraser.1 He married Mary Ann Prendergast on 25 October 1834 at Ootacamum, Madras, India.1 He married Margaret Stewart on 6 July 1841 at Kiltearn, Ross-shire, Scotland.1 He died in 1887 at Paddington, London, England.1
     He sold Mount Gerald to Lewis Mark MacKenzie of Findon in 1855.1
