     From 21 November 1905, her married name became Hale.¹

     Commander Edward Mathew Hale was born on 11 May 1864 at Bishop’s House, Perth, Western Australia, Australia.² He was the son of Rt. Rev. Mathew Blagden Hale and Sabina Dunlop Molloy.^1,3 He married Helen Ethel Browne, daughter of William Denis Browne and Louisa Hackett, on 21 November 1905.¹ He died on 19 January 1921 at age 56.¹
     He gained the rank of Commander in the Royal Navy.¹

     Rt. Rev. Mathew Blagden Hale was born on 18 June 1811 at Alderley, Gloucestershire, England.³ He was the son of Robert Hale Blagden Hale and Lady Theodosia Eleanor Bourke.³ He married, firstly, Sophia Clode on 25 February 1840 at Old Church, St. Pancras, London, England.^3,4 He married, secondly, Sabina Dunlop Molloy, daughter of Lt.-Col. John Molloy and Georgiana Kennedy, on 30 December 1848 at St. Mary’s, Busselton, Western Australia, Australia.³ He died on 3 April 1895 at age 83 at Bristol, England.³
     He graduated with a Doctor of Divinity (D.D.)¹ He was educated at Gloucester School, Gloucestershire, England.³ He was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.³ He held the office of Bishop of Western Australia between 1857 and 1875.³ He held the office of Bishop of Brisbane between 1875 and 1885.¹

     Esther Wells was the daughter of John Wells.¹ She married John Denis Browne, son of Rt. Hon. Denis Browne and Anne Mahon, on 25 August 1832.¹ She died circa 1883.¹
     From 25 August 1832, her married name became Browne.¹
