     James Scott, 2nd of Logie was born circa 1593.1 He was the son of James Scott, 1st of Logie and Katherine Criek.1 He married, firstly, Margaret Ramsay, daughter of David Ramsay of Balmain and Catherine Carnegie.1 He married, secondly, Jean Taylor of Borrowfield.1 He died after 1643.1

     Charles Middleton, 2nd Earl of Middleton was born in 1649/50.1 He was the son of John Middleton, 1st Earl of Middleton and Grizel Durham.1 He married Lady Catherine Brudenell, daughter of Robert Brudenell, 2nd Earl of Cardigan and Anne Savage.1 He died on 28 July 1719 at Saint-Germain-en-Laye, Île-de-France, France.1
     He gained the title of 2nd Earl of Middleton. In 1695 he was attainted and his titles forfeited.1
