She was appointed Commander, Royal Victorian Order (C.V.O.) in 1953.1 She held the office of Woman of the Bedchamber to HRH Queen Elizabeth II between 1953 and 1975.1 She was appointed Dame Commander, Royal Victorian Order (D.C.V.O.) in 1971.1
