Captain Garth Neville Walford, V.C. was born on 27 May 1882 at Camberley, Surrey, England.2 He was the son of Colonel Neville Walford.3 He married Elizabeth Katharine Mary Trefusis, daughter of Colonel Hon. John Schomberg Trefusis and Eva Louisa Bontein, on 10 October 1907.1 He died on 26 April 1915 at age 32 at Gallipoli, Turkey, killed in action.1
He fought in the First World War.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Horse Artillery.1 He was awarded the Victoria Cross (V.C.) on 22 June 1915.1
