General Hon. William Lumley-Saunderson1

General Hon. William Lumley-Saunderson was born on 28 August 1769.1 He was the son of Richard Lumley-Saunderson, 4th Earl of Scarbrough and Barbara Savile.1 He married, firstly, Mary Sutherland, daughter of Thomas Sutherland, on 3 October 1804.1 He married, secondly, Louisa Margaret Robbins, daughter of John Robbins, on 3 March 1817.1 He died on 15 December 1850 at age 81.1
He gained the rank of Colonel in the 1st Dragoon Guards.1 He fought in the Battle of Albuera, where he commanded the cavalry.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.)1
