     He was educated at Marlborough College, Marlborough, Wiltshire, England.¹ He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.¹ He was commissioned in 1901 with the rank of officer, in the service of the 1st Battalion, Highland Light Infantry.¹ He fought in the Boer War.¹ He fought in the First World War.¹

     Lady Anna Maria Lumley-Savile was born in 1791.¹ She was the daughter of Reverend John Lumley-Savile, 7th Earl of Scarbrough and Anna Maria Hering.¹ She died on 5 May 1840.¹

     Jane Bradby was the daughter of Admiral unknown Bradby.¹ She married Hon. Frederick Lumley, son of Richard Lumley-Saunderson, 4th Earl of Scarbrough and Barbara Savile, on 25 March 1819.¹ She died on 9 June 1825, without issue.¹
     From 25 March 1819, her married name became Lumley.¹

     Admiral unknown Bradby lived at Hamble, Hampshire, England.¹

     Hon. Savile Henry Lumley-Saunderson was born on 18 June 1768.¹ He was the son of Richard Lumley-Saunderson, 4th Earl of Scarbrough and Barbara Savile.¹ He married Mary Henrietta Tahourdin, daughter of Henry Tahourdin, on 13 December 1806.¹ He died on 14 November 1846 at age 78, without issue.¹

     Mary Henrietta Tahourdin was the daughter of Henry Tahourdin.¹ She married Hon. Savile Henry Lumley-Saunderson, son of Richard Lumley-Saunderson, 4th Earl of Scarbrough and Barbara Savile, on 13 December 1806.¹ She died on 5 July 1869.¹
     From 13 December 1806, her married name became Lumley-Saunderson.¹

     Henry Tahourdin lived at Sydenham, Kent, England.¹

     General Hon. William Lumley-Saunderson was born on 28 August 1769.¹ He was the son of Richard Lumley-Saunderson, 4th Earl of Scarbrough and Barbara Savile.¹ He married, firstly, Mary Sutherland, daughter of Thomas Sutherland, on 3 October 1804.¹ He married, secondly, Louisa Margaret Robbins, daughter of John Robbins, on 3 March 1817.¹ He died on 15 December 1850 at age 81.¹
     He gained the rank of Colonel in the 1st Dragoon Guards.¹ He fought in the Battle of Albuera, where he commanded the cavalry.¹ He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.)¹

     Mary Sutherland was the daughter of Thomas Sutherland.¹ She married General Hon. William Lumley-Saunderson, son of Richard Lumley-Saunderson, 4th Earl of Scarbrough and Barbara Savile, on 3 October 1804.¹ She died in July 1807, without issue.¹
     From 3 October 1804, her married name became Lumley-Saunderson.¹
