     William Bruce Knight was born on 25 December 1785.1 He was the son of John Knight and Margaret Bruce.1 He married Maria Eleanor Traherne, daughter of Llewellyn Traherne, on 12 December 1817.1 He died on 8 August 1845 at age 59, without issue.1
     He graduated with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was Rector between 1815 and 1817 at Llantrithyd, Glamorgan, WalesG.1 He held the office of Dean of Llandaff in 1843.1
