     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.¹ He fought in the First World War, where he was wounded.¹ He gained the rank of Major in the Irish Guards.¹ He gained the rank of Equipment Officer in the Royal Flying Corps.¹ He gained the rank of Flight Lieutenant in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve.¹ He fought in the Second World War.¹

     Charlotte Josephine Cooney was the daughter of Stephen Patrick Cooney.¹ She married, firstly, Leslie Chatfield before 1920.¹ She married, secondly, Lord Robert Edward Innes-Ker, son of James Henry Robert Innes-Ker, 7th Duke of Roxburghe and Lady Anne Emily Spencer-Churchill, on 27 October 1920.¹ She and Lord Robert Edward Innes-Ker were divorced in 1935 at Scotland.¹ She died on 6 December 1958.¹
     She was an actress.¹ Charlotte Josephine Cooney used the stage-name of Jose Collins.¹ From before 1920, her married name became Chatfield.¹ From 27 October 1920, her married name became Innes-Ker.¹

     Eleanor Marie Woodhead was the daughter of Aubrey Woodhead.¹ She married, firstly, Hugh Christopher Hadley before 1939.¹ She married, secondly, Lord Robert Edward Innes-Ker, son of James Henry Robert Innes-Ker, 7th Duke of Roxburghe and Lady Anne Emily Spencer-Churchill, on 28 July 1939.¹ She died on 2 February 1958.¹
     From before 1939, her married name became Hadley.¹ From 28 July 1939, her married name became Innes-Ker.¹
