     John Hay lived at Barbarafield, Temuka, New Zealand.¹

     Frank Douglas was born on 23 May 1870.¹ He was the son of Charles Irvine Douglas and Margaret Elizabeth Holmested.¹ He died on 18 February 1901 at age 30 at South Africa, killed in action.¹
     He fought in the Boer War.¹

     Robert Keith Douglas was born on 15 August 1874.¹ He was the son of Charles Irvine Douglas and Margaret Elizabeth Holmested.¹ He married Louisa Mary Ripley, daughter of Reverend Horace Charles Ripley, on 23 April 1902.¹ He died on 10 October 1917 at age 43, at sea.¹

     Louisa Mary Ripley was the daughter of Reverend Horace Charles Ripley.¹ She married, firstly, Robert Keith Douglas, son of Charles Irvine Douglas and Margaret Elizabeth Holmested, on 23 April 1902.¹ She married, secondly, Major Hugh Fraser on 20 August 1924.¹ She died in 1954.¹
     From 23 April 1902, her married name became Douglas.¹ From 20 August 1924, her married name became Fraser.¹

     Reverend Horace Charles Ripley was Vicar at Minster Lovell, Oxfordshire, England.¹

     Major Hugh Fraser married Louisa Mary Ripley, daughter of Reverend Horace Charles Ripley, on 20 August 1924.¹
     He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)¹ He gained the rank of Major in the 13th Battalion, Rifle Brigade.¹

     Major Archibald William Douglas was born on 15 June 1907.¹ He was the son of Robert Keith Douglas and Louisa Mary Ripley.¹ He married Barbara Middlemost Bairstow, daughter of Herbert Pratt Bairstow and Ethel Ward Middlemost, on 2 June 1934.¹ He died on 27 March 1998 at age 90.¹
     He was educated at Malvern College, Malvern, Worcestershire, England.¹ He graduated from Brasenose College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He gained the rank of Major in the Intelligence Corps.¹ He fought in the Second World War.¹

     Barbara Middlemost Bairstow was the daughter of Herbert Pratt Bairstow and Ethel Ward Middlemost.^1,2 She married Major Archibald William Douglas, son of Robert Keith Douglas and Louisa Mary Ripley, on 2 June 1934.¹ She died on 29 May 1970.¹
     From 2 June 1934, her married name became Douglas.¹
