Sir James Learmonth, 1st of Balcomie1

     Sir James Learmonth, 1st of Balcomie was the son of David Learmonth of Clatto and Dairsie and Anna Kinnimonth of Hill.1 He married, firstly, Katherine Ramsay of Clatto circa 1520.1 He married, secondly, Grissel Meldrum, daughter of Alexander Meldrum of Seggie and Euphame Boswell, circa 1540.1 He died on 10 September 1547, killed in action.1
     He held the office of Master of the Household for King James V of the Scots.1 He fought in the Battle of Pinkie on 10 September 1547.1
