He was educated at Queen’s College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.1 He was appointed Knight on 10 February 1617.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Weymouth and Melcombe Regis from 1624 to 1625.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Denbighshire in 1625.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Denbighshire between 1640 and 1648.1 He gained the rank of General, in the Civil War. He lived at Chirk Castle, Denbighshire, Wales.2
