     Reverend Gilbert Stapleton was born on 11 May 1862.1 He was the son of John Stapleton and Frances Dorothea King.1 He married, firstly, Anna Mary Katharine Langshaw, daughter of Reverend Thomas Langshaw, on 21 April 1891.1 He married, secondly, Eleanor Sarah Jordan, daughter of Reverend Gibbes Jordan, on 3 January 1894.1 He died on 19 July 1949 at age 87.1
     He graduated from Oriel College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was Rector between 1896 and 1933 at Rotherwick, Hampshire, England.1
