     She was with the Voluntary Aid Detachment during the Second World War.¹ From 1944, her married name became Nevile.¹ She was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.) in 1984.¹ She lived in 2003 at Auburn Hall, Lincolnshire, England.¹

     Maude Mary Winifred Walpole was born in 1897.¹ She was the daughter of Lt.-Col. Horace Walpole and Pauline Mary Langdale.¹ She married, firstly, Cyril James Wenceslas Torr in 1921.¹ She married, secondly, Vicomte Théophile de Lantsheere in 1946.¹ She died in 1968.¹
     From 1921, her married name became Torr.¹

     Cyril James Wenceslas Torr married Maude Mary Winifred Walpole, daughter of Lt.-Col. Horace Walpole and Pauline Mary Langdale, in 1921.¹ He died in 1940.¹
     He was with the Foreign Service.¹
