Marshall Waller Clifton was born on 1 November 1787.1 He is the son of Reverend Francis Clifton and Rebekah Katharine Bingham.1 He was baptised on 4 January 1788 at Alverstoke, Hampshire, England.1 He married Elinor Katherine Bell on 2 July 1811 at St. Mary, Putney, London, England.1 He died on 10 March 1861 at age 73 at Upton House, Australind, Western Australia, Australia.1
Marshall Waller Clifton usually went by his middle name of Waller.2 He was Secretary of the Victualling Board between 1822 and 1832.1 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.) in 1828.1 He held the office of Magistrate [Western Australia] in 1841.1 He held the office of Member of the Legislative Council (M.L.C.) [Western Australia] between 1851 and 1858.1
