Sir William Dawes, 3rd Bt. was born in August 1671 at Lyons, Essex, England.3 He was the son of Sir John Dawes, 1st Bt.3 He married Frances d‘Arcy, daughter of Sir Thomas d‘Arcy, 1st Bt..3 He died on 30 April 1724 at age 52.3
He graduated with a Doctor of Divinity (D.D.)1 He gained the title of 3rd Baronet Dawes. He was educated at Merchant Taylors’ School, London, England.3 He was educated at St. John’s College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.3 He was a master in 1697 at St. Catharine’s College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.3 He held the office of Bishop of Chester between 1708 and 1714.3 He held the office of Archbishop of York between 1714 and 1724.1
