Alexander Blair of Kinfauns was born circa 1650.1 He was the son of David Carnegie, 2nd Earl of Northesk and Lady Jean Maule.1 He married, secondly, Margaret Nairne, daughter of John Nairne of Muckarsie.1 He married, firstly, Ann Blair, daughter of Sir William Blair of Kinfauns, on 8 August 1671 at Kinfauns, Perthshire, Scotland.1,2 He died on 14 November 1691.
     He was given the name of Alexander Carnegie at birth.1 Circa 1672 his name was legally changed to Andrew Blair after he acquired Kinfauns.
