     He was educated at Westminster School, Westminster, London, England.² He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1974 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)² He graduated from Imperial College of Science, Technology, London, England^G, in 1978 with a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in biochemistry.¹ He was Professor of molecular immunology.¹ He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.) in 1993.¹ He was deputy director of the Laboratory of Molecular Biology, Cambridge Medical Research Council in 2002.¹ He had two sons and two daughters.²
