Major Peter Layard1
He was also known as Pierre de Layarde.2 In 1688 he attended the Prince of Orange to London.2 He was commissioned circa 1689, in the service of the Miremont’s Dragoons.1,2 He gained the rank of Major in 1710 in the General Wezey’s Regiment of Foot.2 He was naturalized as a British subject in 1713.2 He lived at Sutton Friars, Canterbury, Kent, England.2 He had seven other sons and two daughters, who all died young.2
