     Peregrine Thomas Bertie, Marquess of Lindsey was born on 21 May 1755 at Berkeley Square, London, EnglandG.1 He was the son of General Peregrine Bertie, 3rd Duke of Ancaster and Kesteven and Mary Panton.1 He died on 12 December 1758 at age 3.1 He was buried on 15 December 1758 at Edenham, Lincolnshire, EnglandG.1
     He was styled as Marquess of Lindsey between 1755 and 1758.1

Major Peter Layard1

     Major Peter Layard was born in 1666 at Montflanquin, Guyenne, France.2 He is the son of Raymond de Layarde and Françoise Tanzia de Savary.2 He married Marie Anne Crozé, daughter of Captain Jacques Crozé and Susanne Balaire, on 2 March 1716/17 at St. Benet’s, Paul’s Wharf, London, EnglandG.2 He died on 17 March 1747.2
     He was also known as Pierre de Layarde.2 In 1688 he attended the Prince of Orange to London.2 He was commissioned circa 1689, in the service of the Miremont’s Dragoons.1,2 He gained the rank of Major in 1710 in the General Wezey’s Regiment of Foot.2 He was naturalized as a British subject in 1713.2 He lived at Sutton Friars, Canterbury, Kent, England.2 He had seven other sons and two daughters, who all died young.2

     From 2 March 1716/17, her married name became Layard.1
