James Buchanan, 1st and last Baron Woolavington1 
He was founder of James Buchanan and Company, whiskey distillers in 1880.3 He held the office of High Sheriff of Sussex in 1910.3 He was created 1st Baronet Buchanan, of Lavington, co. Sussex [U.K.] on 6 February 1920.3 He gained the title of 1st Baron Woolavington, of Lavington, co. Sussex [U.K.] on 24 January 1922.3 He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Royal Victorian Order (G.C.V.O.) in 1931.1 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.4
