     Maurice Collis is the son of John FitzGerald Collis and Margaret Day. He married Frances Diana Herbert, daughter of Reverend Edward Herbert and Frances Diana Standish, in 1821.¹

     Lt.-Col. Frederick Arthur Hamilton was born on 15 December 1880.¹ He was the son of Charles Robert Hamilton and Louisa Caroline Elizabeth Brooke.² He married Phyllis Addams Williams, daughter of Maj.-Gen. Sir Godfrey Williams, on 28 September 1911.¹ He died on 8 February 1962 at age 81.¹
     He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.³ He fought in the Boer War.¹ He fought in the Third Afghan War.¹ He gained the rank of officer in the 8th Bengal Lancers and QVO Corps of Guides Cavalry (Frontier Force.)¹ First World War.¹ He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1919.¹ He was appointed Fellow, Royal Geographical Society (F.R.G.S.)³ He retired from the military in 1930, with the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel, late of the Indian Army.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) in 1934.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) in 1936.¹ He lived at Great Osbaston, Monmouthshire, Wales^G.³
