Major William James Hall was born on 16 September 1835.2 He is the son of Reverend Savage Hall and Anne O’Brien.2 He married, firstly, Elizabeth Theodosia Catherine Forde, daughter of Reverend William Brownlow Forde and Theodosia Helen Douglass, on 17 December 1863.2 He married, secondly, Florence Selina Brooke, daughter of George Augustus Frederick Brooke and Lady Arabella Georgina Hastings, on 28 March 1875.3 He died on 21 May 1896 at age 60.2
