     Sir Frederick Bernard Bolton was born on 9 March 1921.1 He was the son of Louis Hamilton Bolton.2 He married, firstly, Valerie Margaret Barwick, daughter of George Short Barwick and Marianne Marshall, on 19 April 1950.2 He married, secondly, Vanessa Mary Anne Robarts, daughter of Anthony Vere Cyprian Robarts and Grizel Mary Grant, in 1971.1 He died on 27 July 2005 at age 84.1
     He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)1 He was chairman of the Bolton Group between 1953 and 1991.1 He lived in 1970 at Barton House, Blakesley, Northamptonshire, England.2 He was appointed Knight Bachelor in 1976.1
