     Lt.-Gen. Sir Harold Knott was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.)¹ He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.)¹ He lived at Jersey, Channel Islands.¹ He graduated with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)¹

     Major Thomas James Knott is the son of Lt.-Gen. Sir Harold Knott.² He married Joanna Mavis Best, daughter of Rear-Admiral Thomas William Best and Brenda Joan Hellaby, on 18 July 1970.¹
     He gained the rank of Major in the Royal Engineers.¹

     Felicity Anne Knott was born in 1971.¹ She is the daughter of Major Thomas James Knott and Joanna Mavis Best.²

     He was educated at Wellington College, Crowthorne, Berkshire, England.¹ He was educated at Jesus College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.¹ He was a practising Inner Temple in 1951, barrister.¹ He held the office of Recorder of Crown Court between 1972 and 1975.¹ He held the office of Circuit Judge between 1975 and 1997.¹

     Samuel James Best was born on 9 June 1927.¹ He was the son of Hon. James William Best and Florence Mary Bernarda Lees.² He married Jennifer Elspeth Mary Heilbut, daughter of Max Herbert Heilbut, on 25 September 1954.¹ He died on 18 June 1974 at age 47, in a flying accident.¹
     He was educated at Wellington College, Crowthorne, Berkshire, England.¹

     Max Herbert Heilbut lived at Baker’s Barn, Touchen End, Berkshire, England.¹

     Jennifer Elspeth Mary Heilbut is the daughter of Max Herbert Heilbut.² She married Samuel James Best, son of Hon. James William Best and Florence Mary Bernarda Lees, on 25 September 1954.¹
     From 25 September 1954, her married name became Best. She lived in 2003 at Kings House, Powerstock, Dorset, England.¹
