     Robert Petre, 3rd Baron Petre was born on 22 September 1599 at Ingatestone, Essex, EnglandG.1 He was the son of William Petre, 2nd Baron Petre and Lady Katherine Somerset.1,2 He married Hon. Mary Browne, daughter of Anthony Maria Browne, 2nd Viscount Montagu and Lady Jane Sackville, in 1620.1 He died on 23 October 1638 at age 39.2
     He was educated at Exeter College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.2 He succeeded as the 3rd Baron Petre, of Writtle, co. Essex [E., 1603] on 5 May 1637.2

     Hon. Mary Browne was born circa 1603.2 She was the daughter of Anthony Maria Browne, 2nd Viscount Montagu and Lady Jane Sackville.2 She married Robert Petre, 3rd Baron Petre, son of William Petre, 2nd Baron Petre and Lady Katherine Somerset, in 1620.2 She died on 13 January 1684/85.2
     From 1620, her married name became Petre. After her marriage, Hon. Mary Browne was styled as Baroness Petre on 5 May 1637.
