     Sir Henry Wardlaw of Balmule and Pitreavie, 1st Bt. was born in 1565.2 He was the son of Cuthbert Wardlaw of Balmule and Catherine Dalgleish.3 He married Elizabeth Wilson.1 He died on 5 April 1637.1
     He purchased Balmule in 1596.1 He was Chamberlain to Ann, consort of King James I and VI in 1603.1 He purchased Pitreavie in 1606.1 He was created 1st Baronet Wardlaw, of Pitreavie, Fife [Nova Scotia] on 5 March 1630/31.1

Sir Henry Wardlaw of Pitreavie, 2nd Bt.1

     Sir Henry Wardlaw of Pitreavie, 2nd Bt. was the son of Sir Henry Wardlaw of Balmule and Pitreavie, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Wilson.2 He married Margaret Bethune, daughter of David Bethune, 11th of Balfour and Margaret Wardlaw, in 1617.1 He died on 2 March 1653.1
     In 1617 he had a charter of Pitreavie.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Wardlaw, of Pitreavie, Fife [N.S., 1631] on 5 April 1637.1
