     David Bethune, 11th of Balfour was born in 1574.2 He was the son of Robert Bethune, 10th of Balfour and Agnes Traill.2 He married Margaret Wardlaw, daughter of Andrew Wardlaw, 7th of Torrie and Janet Durie, on 28 February 1591.2 He died after 8 May 1633.2
     He was also known as David Beaton of Balfour.3
