He was educated in 1790 at Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Digby, of Sherborne, co. Dorset [G.B., 1765] on 25 September 1793.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Earl Digby, co. Lincoln [G.B., 1790] on 25 September 1793.1 He succeeded as the 8th Baron Digby, of Geashill, King’s County [I., 1620] on 25 September 1793.2 He succeeded as the 2nd Viscount Coleshill, co. Warwick [G.B., 1790] on 25 September 1793.1 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Dorset between 1805 and 1856.1
On his death, the Earldom of Digby and Viscountcy of Coleshill became extinct.1
