     Sir Richard Rathborne Vassar-Smith, 3rd Bt. was born on 24 November 1909. He was the son of Charles Martin Vassar-Smith and Gladys Emmeline Rathborne.² He married Mary Dawn Woods, daughter of Sir Raymond Wybrow Woods, on 27 July 1932.¹ He died on 12 August 1995 at age 85.¹
     He was educated at Lancing College, Lancing, Sussex, England.¹ He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Vassar-Smith, of Charlton Park, Charlton Kings, co. Gloucester [U.K., 1917] on 25 November 1920.¹ He graduated from Pembroke College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1931 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ He fought in the Second World War.¹ He gained the rank of Major in the Royal Artillery.¹ He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.) in 1950.¹ He was Headmaster between 1957 and 1972 at St. Ronan’ School, Hawkhurst, Kent, England.¹

     Sir Raymond Wybrow Woods was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.)¹

     Mary Dawn Woods was the daughter of Sir Raymond Wybrow Woods.² She married Sir Richard Rathborne Vassar-Smith, 3rd Bt., son of Charles Martin Vassar-Smith and Gladys Emmeline Rathborne, on 27 July 1932.¹ She died in November 2001.¹
     From 27 July 1932, her married name became Vassar-Smith.

     Charles Richard Raymond Vassar-Smith was born on 13 June 1934.¹ He was the son of Sir Richard Rathborne Vassar-Smith, 3rd Bt. and Mary Dawn Woods.² He died on 26 June 1937 at age 3.¹

     Nigel Moir lived at Bacton, Suffolk, England.¹

     Juliet Rathborne Vassar-Smith was born on 10 May 1941.¹ She is the daughter of Sir Richard Rathborne Vassar-Smith, 3rd Bt. and Mary Dawn Woods.²

     Beatrice Helena Vassar-Smith was born circa 1876.¹ She was the daughter of Sir Richard Vassar-Smith, 1st Bt. and Mary Partridge.² She died on 20 February 1965, unmarried.¹

     Margaret Katharine Vassar-Smith was the daughter of Sir Richard Vassar-Smith, 1st Bt. and Mary Partridge.² She married Colonel Fairlie Russell Ozzard, son of James William Ozzard, on 15 August 1910.¹ She died on 22 September 1960.¹
     From 15 August 1910, her married name became Ozzard.

     Colonel Fairlie Russell Ozzard is the son of James William Ozzard.² He married Margaret Katharine Vassar-Smith, daughter of Sir Richard Vassar-Smith, 1st Bt. and Mary Partridge, on 15 August 1910.¹
     He gained the rank of Colonel in the Indian Medical Service.¹
