Sir Richard Rathborne Vassar-Smith, 3rd Bt.1 
He was educated at Lancing College, Lancing, Sussex, England.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Vassar-Smith, of Charlton Park, Charlton Kings, co. Gloucester [U.K., 1917] on 25 November 1920.1 He graduated from Pembroke College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1931 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of Major in the Royal Artillery.1 He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.) in 1950.1 He was Headmaster between 1957 and 1972 at St. Ronan’ School, Hawkhurst, Kent, England.1
