(Conservative) for Croydon West between 1950 and 1955.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for Croydon South between 1955 and 1966.2 He was created 1st Baronet Thompson, of Reculver, Kent [U.K.] on 28 January 1963.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for Croydon South between 1970 and February 1974.2
