     Robert Shillito Dower lived at Ilkley, Yorkshire, England.¹

     John Gordon Dower was the son of Robert Shillito Dower.² He married Pauline Trevelyan, daughter of Sir Charles Philips Trevelyan, 3rd Bt. and Mary Katharine Bell, on 3 September 1929.¹ He died on 3 October 1947.¹

     Michael Shillito Trevelyan Dower was born on 15 November 1933.¹ He is the son of John Gordon Dower and Pauline Trevelyan.² He married Agnes Done, daughter of Allan Done, on 1 September 1960.¹
     He was educated at The Leys School, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.¹ He graduated from St. John’s College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ He graduated from University College London, London, England, with a Diploma of Town Planning.¹ He was with the Sports Council between 1965 and 1967.¹ He was Director of Dartington Amenity Research Trust in 1967.¹ He was member of the English Tourist Board in 1969.¹ He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.)¹
