(Liberal) for Bradford between 1867 and 1868.2 He held the office of Mayor of Bradford between 1872 and 1873.2 He was chairman of Forth Bridge and Midland Railway Companies.2 He was created 1st Baronet Thompson, of Park Gate, Guiseley, co. York [U.K.] on 18 April 1890.1
