Sir Thomas Lionel Tennyson Thompson, 5th Bt. usually went by his middle name of Lionel.1 He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He fought in the Second World War, where he was invalided in 1944.1 He gained the rank of Flying Officer in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve.1 He was admitted to Lincoln’s Inn in 1952 entitled to practise as a barrister.1 He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Thompson, of Hartsbourne Manor, co. Hertford [U.K., 1806] on 17 September 1964.1
