     Reverend Horatio Morgan Rice was born on 12 November 1805 at Bevis Hill, South Stonham, Devon, England.¹ He was the son of Reverend John Morgan Rice and Elizabeth Holmes.¹ He married Emily Beatrice Dick, daughter of Vice-Admiral John Dick and Augusta Goodrich, on 23 June 1841 at Southampton, Hampshire, England.¹ He died on 21 October 1863 at age 57.¹ He was buried on 24 October 1863 at South Hill, Callington, Cornwall, England.¹ His will was proven (by probate) on 18 December 1863.¹
     He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1827 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ He was Curate between February 1829 and April 1834 at Rye, Sussex, England.¹ He was Rector between 1841 and 1863 at South Hill, Callington, Cornwall, England.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Cornwall.¹

     Rear-Admiral John Shepherd was born in 1794 at Paddington, London, England.¹ He married Anna Dick, daughter of Vice-Admiral John Dick and Augusta Goodrich, in 1851 at Southampton, Hampshire, England.¹

     Lucy Augusta Rice was born in 1843 at Calstock, Cornwall, England.¹ She was the daughter of Reverend Horatio Morgan Rice and Emily Beatrice Dick.¹ She died in 1922, unmarried.¹

     Reverend Morgan John Rice was born in 1848 at South Hill, Callington, Cornwall, England.¹ He was the son of Reverend Horatio Morgan Rice and Emily Beatrice Dick.¹
     He was Rector at Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, England.¹ He was Chaplain at Ajaccio, Corsica, France.¹
