Sir Robert Talbot, 2nd Bt.1 
He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Talbot, of Carton, co. Kildare [I., 1623] on 16 March 1633/34.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for County Wicklow [Ireland] between June 1634 and October 1634.1 He was a leading figure in the Confederacy and in command of Tecroghan Castle, County Meath in the Civil War.1 He lived at Carton, County Kildare, Ireland.1

He held the office of Secretary of the Colony of Maryland from 1670 to 1671.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Talbot, of Carton, co. Kildare [I., 1623] on 21 October 1670.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Ireland] in 1687.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for County Meath [Ireland] in 1689.1 He held the office of Master of the Rolls from 1689 to 1690.1 In 1691 he was attainted when baronetcy became forfeit.1
