     James Ogilvie Reginald Fairlie was born on 28 December 1848.¹ He was the son of Lt.-Col. James Ogilvy Fairlie and Elizabeth Constance Crawford.¹ He was baptised on 25 January 1849 at Symington, Ayrshire, Scotland.¹ He married Mary Buchanan, daughter of John Buchanan, in 1880.¹
     He graduated from Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ He was Private Chamberlain to Pope Leo XIII between 1878 and 1903.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Fifeshire.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Fifeshire.¹ He lived at Coodham, Ayrshire, Scotland.¹

     Mary Buchanan was the daughter of John Buchanan.¹ She married James Ogilvie Reginald Fairlie, son of Lt.-Col. James Ogilvy Fairlie and Elizabeth Constance Crawford, in 1880.¹ She died in July 1931.¹
     From 1880, her married name became Fairlie.¹

     John Buchanan lived at Dowanhill.¹

     Reginald Francis Joseph Fairlie was born on 7 March 1883 at Kincaple, Fife, Scotland.¹ He was the son of James Ogilvie Reginald Fairlie and Mary Buchanan.¹ He died on 27 October 1952 at age 69 at St. Raphael’s Nursing Home, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.¹
     He was educated at Oratory School, Birmingham, Warwickshire, England^G.¹ He was an architect.¹

     Margaret Fairlie was the daughter of James Ogilvie Reginald Fairlie and Mary Buchanan.¹ She died on 14 June 1958.¹

     Sybil Diana Brooke was the daughter of Reverend Stopford Augustus Brooke and Emma Diana Beaumont.¹ She married Leonard Leslie Brooke, son of Leonard Dobbin Brooke and Rhoda Prentice, on 28 June 1894.² She died on 26 February 1957.²

     Amy French married, firstly, John Pudsey before 1777.¹ She married, secondly, Sir William Johnston of Caskieben, 6th Bt., son of Sir William Johnston of Caskieben, 5th Bt. and Jean Sandilands, in 1777.¹
