     Sir James Watson Stewart of Balgownie, 3th Bt. was born on 6 August 1889.1 He is the son of Sir James Watson Stewart of Balgownie, 1st Bt. and Marion Symington Young.2 He married Jane Sim, daughter of James Morton Sim, on 30 March 1921.1 He died on 4 June 1955 at age 65.1
     He was educated at Kelvinside Academy, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, ScotlandG.1 He was educated at Uppingham School, Uppingham, Rutland, England.1 He fought in the First World War.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Royal Army Service Corps Motor Transport and Royal Garrison Artillery (TF.)1 He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Stewart, of Balgownie, co. Dunbarton [U.K., 1920] on 4 February 1934.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for the County and City of Glasgow.)1

     He fought in the First World War.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Flying Corps.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross (D.F.C.)1 He gained the rank of Flight Lieutenant in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve.1 He fought in the Second World War.1
