     Samuel John Best, 7th Baron Wynford was born on 24 June 1874.¹ He was the son of Lt.-Col. George Best, 5th Baron Wynford and Edith Anne Marsh.² He married, firstly, Evelyn Mary Aylmer May, daughter of Maj.-Gen. Sir Edward Sinclair May and Charlotte Dorothea William Stirling, on 26 August 1914.¹ He married, secondly, Marguerite Jane Pratt, daughter of Charles Pratt, on 5 June 1930.² He died on 29 August 1943 at age 69.²
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve.¹ He succeeded as the 7th Baron Wynford, of Wynford Eagle, Dorset [U.K., 1829] on 15 December 1940.¹

     Evelyn Mary Aylmer May was born circa 1887 at Woolwich, London, England.¹ She was the daughter of Maj.-Gen. Sir Edward Sinclair May and Charlotte Dorothea William Stirling.¹ She married Samuel John Best, 7th Baron Wynford, son of Lt.-Col. George Best, 5th Baron Wynford and Edith Anne Marsh, on 26 August 1914.² She died on 28 March 1929.²
     Her married name became Best.

     Lt.-Col. Robert Samuel Best, 8th Baron Wynford was born on 5 January 1917.¹ He is the son of Samuel John Best, 7th Baron Wynford and Evelyn Mary Aylmer May.² He married Anne Daphne Mametz Minshull-Ford, daughter of Maj.-Gen. John Randle Minshull-Ford, on 6 May 1941.¹ He died on 21 January 2002 at age 85.¹
     Lt.-Col. Robert Samuel Best, 8th Baron Wynford usually went by his middle name of Bobby.¹ He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.¹ He was educated at Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.¹ He fought in the Second World War, where he was wounded.¹ He was awarded the Croix de Guerre in 1943.¹ He succeeded as the 8th Baron Wynford, of Wynford Eagle, Dorset [U.K., 1829] on 29 August 1943.² He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Royal Welsh Fusiliers.¹ He was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.) in 1952.¹ He was Officer Commanding of the Royal Welsh Fusiliers between 1955 and 1957.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Dorset in 1970.¹

     Marguerite Jane Pratt is the daughter of Charles Pratt. She married, firstly, William Kenneth Allies before 1930.¹ She married, secondly, Samuel John Best, 7th Baron Wynford, son of Lt.-Col. George Best, 5th Baron Wynford and Edith Anne Marsh, on 5 June 1930.² She died on 28 March 1966.²
     From before 1930, her married name became Allies.¹ Her married name became Best. After her marriage, Marguerite Jane Pratt was styled as Baroness Wynford on 15 December 1940.

     Lt.-Col. Sir Malcolm Donald Murray was born on 9 July 1867.² He was the son of Brig.-Gen. Alexander Henry Murray and Martha Frances Vincent Davenport.³ He married Lady Hilda Joanna Gwendoline Finch, daughter of Heneage Finch, 7th Earl of Aylesford and Edith Peers-Williams, on 12 April 1898.¹ He died on 2 August 1938 at age 71.¹
     He fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1900.² He fought in the First World War.² He was appointed Companion, Order of the Indian Empire (C.I.E.)² He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Royal Victorian Order (G.C.V.O.)² He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)² He was Comptroller and Equerry to HRH The Duke of Connaught.² He gained the rank of Major and Brevet Lieutenant-Colonel in the Seaforth Highlanders.² He held the office of Deputy Ranger of Windsor Great Park between 1929 and 1937.² He was appointed Officer, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (O.St.J.)²

     Anne Daphne Mametz Minshull-Ford is the daughter of Maj.-Gen. John Randle Minshull-Ford.¹ She married Lt.-Col. Robert Samuel Best, 8th Baron Wynford, son of Samuel John Best, 7th Baron Wynford and Evelyn Mary Aylmer May, on 6 May 1941.¹ She died on 25 October 2002.¹
     Her married name became Best. After her marriage, Anne Daphne Mametz Minshull-Ford was styled as Baroness Wynford on 29 August 1943.
