     He was appointed Knight Commander, Royal Victorian Order (K.C.V.O.)¹ He was created 1st Baronet Smith, of Stratford Place, London [U.K.] on 6 September 1897.¹ He was Surgeon-Extraordinary to HM Queen Victoria.¹ He was appointed Fellow, Royal College of Surgeons (F.R.C.S.)¹ He held the office of Honorary Serjeant-Surgeon to HM King Edward VIIs.¹ He was Consulting Surgeon at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical School, London, England.¹

     Joseph Brandram Smith was born in 1835.¹ He was the son of Benjamin Smith and Susannah Pellatt.² He died, unmarried.¹

     Herbert Jowett Smith was born in 1837.¹ He was the son of Benjamin Smith and Susannah Pellatt.² He married Emily Wilson, daughter of Reverend William Wilson, on 10 June 1862.¹ He died in 1899.¹
