     Dr. Alan Lindsay Sanderson was born on 12 January 1931.1 He is the son of Basil Sanderson, 1st Baron Sanderson of Ayot and Evelyn Constance Ismay.2 He married Gertrude Boschler, daughter of Herman Boschler, in 1959.1
     He was educated at Uppingham School, Uppingham, England.1 He graduated from London University, London, England, in 1954 with a Bachelor of Surgery (B.S.)1 He graduated from London University, London, England, in 1954 with a Bachelor of Medicine (M.B.)1 He was registered as a Member, Royal College of Physicians, London (M.R.C.P.) in 1959.1 He was registered as a Member, Royal College of Phychiatrists (M.R.C.Psych.)1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Sanderson of Ayot, of Welwyn, co. Hertford [U.K., 1960] on 15 August 1971.1 On 28 September 1971 he disclaimed his Barony for life.1 He lived in 2003 at 2 Caroline Close, London, England.1
