Sir Francis Henry Evans, 1st Bt. was born in 1841 at Crumpsall, Lancashire, England.2 He was the son of William Evans and Mary Nicholson.3,2 He married Marie de Grasse Stevens, daughter of Samuel Stevens, on 31 July 1872.4 He died on 22 January 1907.5
He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Southampton between 1888 and 1900.4 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of St. Michael and St. George (K.C.M.G.) in 1893.5 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Maidstone between 1901 and 1906.4 He was created 1st Baronet Evans, of Tubbendens, Kent [U.K.] on 26 July 1902.1 He lived at Tubbendens, Orpington, Kent, England.4
