     He was educated at Eastbourne College, Eastbourne, Sussex, England^G.² He gained the rank of officer in the 4th Battalion, Royal Sussex Regiment.¹ He graduated from Merton College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He fought in the First World War.² He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1948.¹ He was Clerk of Journals, House of Lords in 1960.¹

     Reverend William Edward Dalton was Vicar at Glynde, Sussex, England.¹

     Gwen Marjorie Chisholm Dalton was the daughter of Reverend William Edward Dalton.² She married Clifford Fortescue Loftus St. George, son of Loftus St. George and Marguerite Isabel Clifford Borrer, on 29 July 1931.¹ She died in 1982.¹
     From 29 July 1931, her married name became St. George.

     John St. George was born on 21 February 1942.¹ He is the son of Clifford Fortescue Loftus St. George and Gwen Marjorie Chisholm Dalton.² He married, firstly, unknown wife Lawrence in 1965.¹ He and unknown wife Lawrence were divorced in 1975.¹ He married, secondly, Elizabeth Jane Westgate, daughter of Herbert Westgate, in 1975.¹
