     He held the office of Lord Chief Justice of the Court of Common Pleas.1 He lived at Nutwell Court, Lympstone, Devon, England.1

     Rear-Admiral Francis Samuel Drake, 1st and last Bt. was the son of Sir Francis Henry Drake, 4th Bt. and Anne Heathcote.1 He married Pooley Onslow, daughter of Lt.-Col. George Onslow and Jane Thorp, in 1788.1 He died on 19 November 1789, without issue.1,2
     He was created 1st Baronet Drake [Great Britain] on 12 August 1782.1 He gained the rank of Rear-Admiral in the Rodney’s fleet, Royal Navy.1
