     He fought in the First World War.1 He gained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in the Rifle Brigade and Royal Flying Corps.1

     Sir John Somerville, 2nd of Cambusnethan was the son of Sir John Somerville, 1st of Cambusnethan and Elizabeth Carmichael.2 He married Christian Dalzell, daughter of Sir Robert Dalzell of that Ilk and Margaret Hamilton.3 A contract for the marriage of Sir John Somerville, 2nd of Cambusnethan and Lady Margaret Graham was signed on 10 July 1510.1 He died in 1553.2
     He lived at Cambusneth, ScotlandG.3
