He was educated at Wolmer’s Boy’s School, Kingston, Jamaica.1 He was educated at Malvern College, Malvern, Jamaica.1 He gained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in 1917 in the Jamaica Reserve Regiment (BWI Regiment.)1 He fought in the First World War in 1917, where he was invalided.1 He was Consul in Jamaica for Brazil between 1935 and 1943.1 He was appointed Fellow, Society of Antiquaries, Scotland (F.S.A.Scot.) in 1936.1 He was Archivist [Jamaica] between 1937 and 1945.1 He was Master between 1946 and 1954 at Munro College, St. Elizabeth, Jamaica.1 He was Lecturer on Caribbean History, Economics and Social Pyschology between 1949 and 1956 at West Indies University College, Kingston, Jamaica.1 He held the position of 23rd Chief of the Clan Donnachaidh from on 29 January 1949. He was recognised by Lord Lyon King of Arms, and matriculated his arms at the Lyons Court on 2 July 1954.1 He was PA to managing director of Jamaica Industrial Development Corporation in 1955.1 He was Master between 1956 and 1965 at Knox College, Jamaica.1 He was Master in 1966 at Wolmer’s Boy’s School, Kingston, Jamaica.1 He was appointed Fellow, Chartered Insitutute of Secretaries (F.C.I.S.) in 1970.1
