Sir Walter Riddell of that Ilk, 10th Bt.1 
He succeeded as the 10th Baronet Riddell, of Riddell, co. Roxburgh [N.S., 1628] in April 1819.1 He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.2 He graduated from Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1831 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)2 He was admitted to Lincoln’s Inn in 1834 entitled to practise as a barrister.2 He graduated from Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1834 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)2 He held the office of Recorder of Maidstone between 1846 and 1868.1 He held the office of Judge of the County Courts of North Staffordshire between 1859 and 1862.2 He held the office of Judge of the Whitechapel County Courts between 1863 and 1879.1
