     He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, England.¹ He was educated at Clare College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.¹ He was an author, artist, and skier.¹ He gained the rank of Major in the General List.¹ He was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.) in 1944.¹ He fought in the Second World War.¹

Peter John Archibald Riddell was born on 20 June 1914.¹ He was the son of Archibald Riddell and Edith Mary Lawrie.² He married Cynthia Mary Crompton Wood, daughter of Brooks Crompton Wood, on 18 June 1940.¹ He and Cynthia Mary Crompton Wood were divorced in 1968.¹ He died on 26 March 1985 at age 70 at Camden, London, England.^1,3
     He gained the rank of Group Captain in the Royal Air Force.¹ He fought in the Second World War, where he was mentioned in despatches five times.¹ He was awarded the U.S. Legion of Merit.¹ He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1946.¹

     Brooks Crompton Wood lived at Bruern Abbey, Churchill, Oxfordshire, England.¹

     Cynthia Mary Crompton Wood was the daughter of Brooks Crompton Wood.² She married G/Capt. Peter John Archibald Riddell, son of Archibald Riddell and Edith Mary Lawrie, on 18 June 1940.¹ She and G/Capt. Peter John Archibald Riddell were divorced in 1968.¹ She died in 1993.¹
