     He was educated at Downside School, Bath, Somerset, England.¹ He was educated at Merton College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.¹ He fought in the Second World War.¹ He gained the rank of Major in the Duke of Lancaster’s Own Yeomanry.¹ He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.)¹ He was chairman of Liverpool Savings Bank between 1954 and 1955.¹ He was awarded the Italian Order of Merit in 1955.¹

     Helen Mary Gillow was the daughter of Charles Richard Gillow.² She married James Roskell Reynolds, son of Sir James Philip Reynolds, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Emilia Leila Roskell, on 4 July 1931.¹ She died in 1977.¹
