     He was educated at Charterhouse School, Godalming, Surrey, England^G.¹ He graduated from New College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He was educated at Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He gained the rank of officer in the 2nd Battalion, The Buffs.¹ He fought in the Second World War between 1940 and 1945.¹ He was a partner with Stileman Neate and Topping, solicitors in 1959.¹ He held the office of Lord Mayor of Westminster between 1973 and 1974.¹

     Ann Rosemary Trevor was born in 1925.¹ She was the daughter of John Christopher Trevor and Katherine Lily Morgan.² She married Michael David Nevill Cobbold, son of Geoffrey Wyndham Nevill Cobbold and Cicely Helen Middleton, circa 1949.¹ She died in 1997.¹
     From circa 1949, her married name became Cobbold.¹

     Charles Nevill Cobbold was born in 1951.¹ He was the son of Michael David Nevill Cobbold and Ann Rosemary Trevor.¹ He died in 1951.¹

     Gillian Mary Cobbold was born in 1953.¹ She is the daughter of Michael David Nevill Cobbold and Ann Rosemary Trevor.¹ She married Martyn Gowing, son of Alec D. Gowing and Lillian M. E. A. Upson, in 1973.¹
     From 1973, her married name became Gowing.¹
