     Helen Sophia Anderson was the daughter of Frederick Anderson.² She married Sir Reginald Henry Portal, son of Edward Robert Portal and Ellinor Kate Hill, on 16 September 1926.¹ She died on 3 April 1983.¹

     Christopher Portal was born on 8 July 1927.¹ He was the son of Sir Reginald Henry Portal and Helen Sophia Anderson.² He married Julia Jean Oxley, daughter of Lt.-Col. Richard George Reginald Oxley and Jean Elspeth Anderson, on 30 July 1951.¹ He died on 19 September 2011 at age 84.³
     He was educated at Nautical College, Pangbourne, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He graduated from Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He wrote the book The Reluctant Goldsmith.¹ He wrote the book Abraham Portal, published 1993.¹ He lived at Monkhouse Farm, Merriott, Somerset, England.¹

     Basil Blogg Babington was born on 28 March 1846 at Ootacamund, Tamil Nadu, India.¹ He was the son of Lt.-Gen. David Staig Babington and Maria Anne Sutherland.¹ He married Ella Lugard Radcliffe, daughter of Edmund Ford Radcliffe and Emily Hart, on 30 December 1869 at Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England.¹ He died on 11 November 1928 at age 82.¹
     He lived in 1881 at Weston, England, Rector.¹

     Julia Jean Oxley was born in 1931.² She was the daughter of Lt.-Col. Richard George Reginald Oxley and Jean Elspeth Anderson.^3,2 She married Christopher Portal, son of Sir Reginald Henry Portal and Helen Sophia Anderson, on 30 July 1951.¹ She died on 19 December 2019.²
     From 30 July 1951, her married name became Portal.¹

     Matthew Portal was born on 9 September 1952.¹ He is the son of Christopher Portal and Julia Jean Oxley.² He married Jane Virginia Bowerman, daughter of John Bowerman, in 1975.¹ He and Jane Virginia Bowerman were divorced in 2002.¹
     He was educated at Maidstone Grammar School, Maidstone, Kent, England^G.¹

     John Bowerman lived at Bearstead, Kent, England.¹

     Jane Virginia Bowerman is the daughter of John Bowerman.² She married Matthew Portal, son of Christopher Portal and Julia Jean Oxley, in 1975.¹ She and Matthew Portal were divorced in 2002.¹
